Hugo Cabret is an orphan, who was taken in by his uncle Claude Cabret after his father's death. He tends to the clocks in a train station in Paris and frequently steals items from various station shops until he is caught by Georges Méliès.

Plot[]

Orphan, clock keeper, and thief, twelve-year-old Hugo Cabret originally lived with his widowed father Hugo's father until his death in a museum fire and then lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, where his survival depends on secrets and anonymity.
